maybe this will help!
THIS ALL DEPENDS ON THE DAY/SESSION TYPE. IF YOU HAVE A NEWBORN OR YOU ARE DOING A LIFESTYLE SESSION AND YOU NEED TO FEED / GRAB THE 2 YEAR OLD A SNACK THIS IS ABSOLUTELY FINE AND EXPECTED. I GO WITH THE FLOW AND WE TAKE OUR TIME IF NEEDED. USUALLY WE ARE DONE WITHIN 2 HOURS. IF IT TAKES 2 1/2 HOURS THAT IS ABSOLUTELY FINE. OUTDOOR SESSIONS LAST AN HOUR.
The sessions don’t have to be at your house if you’d prefer not. The photos are supposed to showcase your life as it is now, what your day-to-day life looks like. Having the photos taken inside your house will add an extra layer of wow factor in years to come when you look back and remember the house you made home. A bit of de-cluttering can go a long way, as well as help a fresh bunch of flowers if you’re into that. I love to shoot in the rooms with the most natural light coming in from the windows, so try to de-clutter those.
Sometimes this can be great! This shows the true personality of each individual. The mischievous and cheeky side can be captured for you to remember. I do my best to patiently let your kids warm up to me, help them relax and feel at ease. This is where having activities or involving the kids in a task can help smooth over any misbehaving. Have them do what they love doing whether it’s baking, playing with toys, board games, card game, tea parties, anything.
That is called life. Things happen and that is okay. I text you the night before our session to make sure we’re all still okay for the next day. I also text on the day of the session as I’m leaving to let you know how far away I am. If you need to cancel for any reason, illness, family reasons, things went pearshaped last night, an injury or even a pimple. Whatever it is just let me know and we can definitely reschedule. If it is raining or storms we will need to reschedule.
I try to make you feel as comfortable as possible. We’ll have a chat about the session when I first arrive and nut out any details or issues. As I am in the background trying to be as inconspicuous as possible, I try not to interfere with you too much. I direct a little to engage connection with you and your family members but otherwise it’s pretty well you just doing what you do with me there with a camera seeking out special moments. With kids I take time to get to know them a bit and let them warm up to me at their own pace. This allows their true personality to come out.
I do offer mini sessions 2/3 times a year, so make sure you subscribe to my newsletter so you don't miss that option!
I do require a 50% deposit to secure your shoot date, the remaining balance is due on the day of your shoot.
I just got your message! I can't wait to connect with you.
I'll do my best to reply to your note as soon as possible.
